LACMA offers classes to adults on weekends and on weekdays. Adults may also participate in intergenerational classes held for students from ages 5 to 105!

Drawing from Photography—Gallery Session
Five Saturdays: January 17, 24, 31, February 7, 14 | 11 am–1:30 pm
Tackle the complexities of sketching from photographs as you study the exhibitionVanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913-2008 for its subject matter and as an art medium.

Drawing—Gallery Session
Five Sundays: January 18, 25, February 1, 8, 15 | 11 am–1:30 pm
The museum's permanent collection serves as the classroom where you will discover ways of looking at art. Focused on the human form, the class is designed to make draftsmanship accessible to all. With artist David Schoffman.
Members $145; nonmembers $155
Five-week session; enrollment limited to 20 participants; art materials included in tuition.
Drawing from Sculpture—Gallery Session
Five Saturdays: November 1, 8, 15, 22, December 6 | 11 am–1:30 pm
Use the museum's sculpture collection for study and as subject matter, increasing the ability to see and render a three-dimensional object on a flat piece of paper. With artist Michael Wright.

Weekday Classes
Water Soluble Oil Painting—Studio Session
Five Fridays: January 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20 | 6–9 pm
This class is designed to introduce basic oil painting techniques and color theory without the use of solvents or harmful chemicals. Through color mixing exercises and observations of the modern art collection, create sketches in oil and a final painting. With artist Shannon Green.

Art on the Run—Gallery Session
Five Tuesdays: November 18, 25, December 2, 9, 16 | 1:30–4:30 pm
LACMA's galleries become your classroom in this basic drawing class. See art from around the world, learn about the artists in the collection, and hone your drawing skills with artist Rosanne Kleinerman. All skill levels welcome.
Members $170, nonmembers $180

Intergenerational Classes for Students ages 5 to 105
Perfect for families or adults on their own, intergenerational classes present to students of nearly all ages the opportunity to learn about art and make art at the museum together.
One-Day Family Workshop: Latin America
Saturday, January 31 or February 14 | 2–3:30 pm
Join museum educator and chef Maite Gomez-Rejon to explore all five senses while traveling through the pre-Columbian and Latin American art galleries. Back in the studio make and decorate clay vessels while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate inspired by the conversations in the galleries.
NexGen members plus one adult $40, nonmembers plus one adult $50
Art materials and parking fees included in tuition; limited enrollment.
